About the Pot O' Gold Ranch

Our Founder Dr. Claud J. Bonam Sr.

Dr. Claud J. Bonam Sr., (1913 to 1993) was a Baptist minister with a vision to start a youth camp operated for the glory of God.  In 1966 God answered his life long prayer and Youth Camps Inc, was established to operate the Pot O Gold Ranch Christian Youth Camp.  Since then, over 7,500 precious souls have been saved and thousands of pastors and missionaries have answered the call of God here and are serving the Lord world wide.  We are very grateful for the heritage we have in Dr. Bonam.  Praise the Lord!

People often ask us why the youth camp is named "Pot O' Gold".  When the property was purchased, the name was the Pot O Gold but had a terrible reputation because of the activities that took place here (it was a worldly dude ranch).  Much thought was given to changing the name but it was not to be in the Lords will.

Dr. Bonam's wife, Viola, was reading her bible one day and came across the verse in Hebrews 9:4 that speaks of the golden pot of manna contained in the ark of hte covenant.  It was Mrs. Bonam that first suggested keeping the old name as it was her prayer that God would use the "Pot O Gold Ranch" to give to young people the precious manna of his world.
